Presidents Day at Pebble Creek

Presidents Day is always one of the busiest days at ski resorts, and Monday was no exception.

At Pebble Creek in Inkom, there were long lift lines and packed parking lots. In addition to the holiday, the mountain was also hosting Scout Merit Badge Day which sent more than 150 scouts up the slopes.

Pebble Creek’s Dana Kmetz said Monday was a big day for the mountain.

“About 450-day tickets sold just after half-day is quite a bit busier than a typical day,” she explained. “Plus we have all of our season pass holders up here and that doesn’t include the scouts either.”

With Scout Merit Badge Day winding down, Kmetz is looking towards March and the many events the mountain will be hosting.

The annual Telemark festival and Pond Skim are sure to draw skiers and snowboarders to the mountain, but Kmetz is most excited for the Dummy Jump.

“The Dummy Jump has got to be the most entertaining. People make all kinds of crazy creatures and send them down a huge jump on skis,” she explained. “So fun to watch.”
