Fire starts inside ISU housing building

A small fire in a apartment at Idaho State University forced several students to relocate to other housing Friday night.

The fire was reported just after 6 p.m. in the Rendezvous Building on campus.

According to Idaho State University, everyone inside the building during the fire evacuated safely. There were no injuries.

The sprinkler system put the fire out before the Pocatello Fire Department arrived at the building.

The fire damaged a table inside a housing unit on the fourth floor of the building. Part of the fourth floor also sustained water damage from the sprinklers.

The Rendezvous Center was back open to the students around 7:30 p.m. Idaho State University said that a section of the B Wing on the fourth floor will stay closed.

In a press release from the university, only a small number of student housing units were impacted by the fire. Those students have been moved to different housing.
