School District 91 creates a 10-year master plan for school’s facilities
School District 91 took their first step in the effort to create a 10-year master plan for their school’s facilities.
They’re calling it the futures conference.
Around sixty community members-representatives from the college of eastern Idaho, the city, economic development, banks, parents, patrons are talking about the educational framework for what they want Idaho falls education to look like.
They believe this meeting will really drive the facilities work.
District 91 Director of Communications Margaret Wimborne, says, “I think as a community we recognize the need to do some upgrades and updates to our school buildings.” This is the first step in what’s going to be a months-long project and will be providing parents and patrons with updates throughout this process. They have community meetings planned in April and May. The board encourages the community to come together and get involved in this prosses. The district is really starting fresh and has contracted with a company called Cooperative Strategies they work with school districts across the country to develop facilities. Cooperative Strategies will be visiting the community over the next few months to hear from parents and work with groups to develop this plan.
