Jackson Hole firefighter to receive state recognition

Jackson Hole Fire/EMS firefighter Butch Gosselin will receive Wyoming’s “Legion of Merit” award for his distinguished military service.

Gosselin has been active in the Wyoming National Guard for 42 years and retired from the Guard with the rank of Master Sergeant. He has been a member of Jackson Hole Fire/EMS since 2002.

The Legion of Merit is awarded for “exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements.”

Gosselin currently serves as both an electrical and fire inspector. He holds a Wyoming licensed journeyman electricity certification and a Wyoming Fire Inspector Certification.

“Jackson Hole Fire/EMS is both extremely proud and incredibly fortunate to have Butch in our ranks,” said Brady Hansen, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Chief. “The honor and recognition that he is receiving is well deserved, and we are all grateful for his service to this country.”

Major Mike Pezeshki will be joined by Major General Luke Reiner for the presentation of the award. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Jackson Hole
Fire/EMS Station 1 Upstairs Training Room at 2:00 p.m.
