UPDATE: Funeral arrangements announced for Ammon boy who passes away from brain tumor

Friends and supporters, who stood behind a boy fighting for his life, are now standing behind the family he leaves behind.

Han Wheeler passed away about 6:30 p.m. Monday surrounded by loved ones. Many supported Han through his difficult battle against an aggressive brain tumor.

In October, Eyewitness News 3 anchor Todd Kunz featured a Pay It Forward story with his favorite football team, the Thunder Ridge Football Grid Kid Blue team, made up of many of his friends. Tuesday, those same friends wore their “Team Han” T-shirts as a tribute.

Leslie Rose, a close friend of the Wheelers, is gathering pictures to pass along to the family. Comments from community members have been full of kind thoughts and prayers.

Han was 10 years old and a fourth-grader at Rimrock Elementary School in Ammon. His parents are Joshua and Laramie Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat., March 2, 2019, at the Ammon Stake Center, 2055 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Matt Stevens of the Rimrock Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
