Neighbors offered look at temple construction plan

Local officials with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will hold a neighborhood meeting in Pocatello tonight to answer questions about a new temple in the community. It is only open to those who have been invited.

Spokesman Bill McKee said the gathering would give local people an idea of how the new facility would lay out on property at the intersection of Butte and Satterfield.

The neighborhood meeting was set for that location from 6-7 p.m. Friday.

Formal groundbreaking for the temple is scheduled March 16. One feature of that event will be a ceremony with eight interfaith ministers, including Muslim, Jewish and Christian churches in the community.

A scheduled completion date has not been announced.
