Glimpse of what Pocatello Chubbuck road maps will be in 20 years

Bannock Transportation Planning Organization wants to hear your comments on the Metropolitan Transportation Plan.

The Metropolitan Transportation Plan is a 20-year outlook in the Pocatello/Chubbuck area to identify the transportation system and what it will look like. That includes things like what the streets will look like, where bus stops will be, ways to solve traffic congestion on Yellowstone Ave as well as where bike and walking paths will go.

One of the biggest suggestions from the community is creating walkable communities throughout new urban development, specifically in the Northgate area.

“You can tell us what issues you have, and then we can begin looking into themes into areas we might not identify,” Mori Byington, planning director for the Bannock Transportation Planning Organization, said. “We have modeled to look at how the system works, but that doesn’t go into experience, how you experience it.”
You can find those models and submit a comment HERE.

Public comments will be accepted until April 5.
