Lewis and Clark Trader Gun Show kicks off in Pocatello
The much anticipated Lewis and Clark Trader Gun Show kicked off today in Pocatello. The event has been going on for decades and attracts 100’s people, today was no different.
Paul and Steve Snider, coordinators for the Lewis and Clark Trader Gun Show, have been doing this event for more than 30 years totally to over 800 shows. But, it’s something these brothers can’t get enough of.
“It’s a place, gun shows are a place to buy sell and just browse around its a place where good friends meet,” Paul Snider, owner of Lewis and Clark Trading said.
Today, the Mountain View Events Center in Pocatello, was a packed house. Inside, it looked like a flea market, but rather for gun enthusiasts. For Paul, John Wayne movies are what sparked his interest. “I like all guns that John Wayne used. The Gun that won the west.”
There were anything from Winchesters to WWII German Lugers, and everything in between. Some that even date back to the civil war.
And, although it’s a gun show, there were also holsters, apparel, and even jewelry. Coordinators say it’s an event that welcomes everyone, gun enthusiast or not.
Steve Snider, event co-coordinator told us that, “Not everyone in here is looking to buy guns, many people are coming into look at some of the antique guns. Some from WWII and WWI. It’s kind of like a museum.”
