Local gym celebrates health and fitness with community

Apple Athletic Club in Idaho Falls hosted its annual Health and Fitness Fair on Saturday.

Plenty of people came out to the gym to check out the many vendors that were at the fair. Apple Athletic Club said it put on the event each year because it is a great way to teach the community about health and the health care businesses around town.

Throughout the day, booths were giving away items and gift baskets. Apple Athletic Club was also giving out a grand prize to those who went to each of the vendors’ tables.

“We have our vendor checkoff sheet,” said Liz Panter, the activities director. “If the attendees visit all of these vendors, they turn (the sheet) in for a grand prize of a night’s stay at the Candlewood (Suites), dinner for two at Smokin’ Fins, Edwards movie tickets and Museum of Idaho tickets.”

Some of the vendors on hand Saturday were Allied Health Care, Idaho Falls Hand Therapy, Bill’s Bike and Run, Visiting Angels of Idaho Falls and many more.

The vendors said that it is great bringing different health care specialists into spot. It gives the public opportunities to interact with people who want to help them make healthy decisions.

“Health is my passion,” said Heather Bluth, who works for Isagenix. “Anybody who is here looking for healthy options, it is fun to visit (with them) and give them another option.”

The Health and Fitness Fair kicked off the day with a free 5K sponsored by Bill’s Bike and Run.
