Man arrested for burglary

The Idaho Falls Police Department has been investigating several burglaries at homes and construction sites on the south side of Idaho Falls.

42-year-old Bonneville County resident Kevin Spaulding was arrested in connection with these cases.

On March 7, 2019, the Idaho Falls Police Department received a report of a burglary at a home in the 200 block of Calistoga Drive.

The homeowner was able to provide video footage from their home security system which showed three individuals on the premises at various times that morning.

After posting the videos on Facebook, the homeowner and IFPD received several tips that identified Kevin Spaulding as one of the people in the video.

Spaulding was apprehended on Friday, March 8, and has been held in the Jefferson County Jail for a felony probation violation.

On Tuesday, March 12, Idaho Falls Police Department and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office detectives executed a search warrant at Spaulding’sresidence in the 500 block of Wilson Drive.

Various construction tools and other items were recovered beneath the house, in the garage, in a vehicle and in other areas of the property.

The recovered items have been linked to several other burglary cases at homes in the area and at construction sites on the South end of Idaho Falls. So far, IFPD has recovered several thousand dollars worth of stolen items.

Detectives are actively working to identify and return these items to their rightful owners and several items have already been reclaimed.

Spaulding was charged today in Bonneville County with one count of grand theft and two counts of burglary.

The Idaho Falls Police Department is continuing to seek the identity of two individuals who may be connected to these cases.
