CEI helping Eastern Idaho employers stay safe while working

The College of Eastern Idaho has partnered with Safety Fest of the Great Northwest to provide free workplace safety training to employers of eastern Idaho.

Safety Fest is held in cities throughout the nation but this is the first annual Idaho Falls Safety Fest.

Last year in eastern Idaho, there were several severe workplace accidents that resulted in at least two deaths and left a few other workers with life lasting injuries.

Organizers for the Safety Fest in Idaho Falls believe one of the root causes for these accidents is a lack of knowledge and proper training.

With over 550 individual registered for the training, they hope to educate them with the proper safety requirements necessary for employees to protect themselves and their co-workers while on the job.

Safety Fest will be running March 19 through March 21 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the College of Eastern Idaho.

If you are interested in learning more about the program some classes are still available.

To register for a class visit: www.cei.edu/wft/safety-fest and then “Register”.

The classes are free and open to the public.

They do plan on doing this again next year and build on this year’s success.
