Man charged for murder of Stephanie Eldredge

UPDATE 1:15 p.m. The Bonneville County Prosecuting Office filed charges against 30-year-old Kenneth Ryan Jones for the murder of Idaho Falls resident Stephanie Eldredge .

Jones is charged with one count of murder in the second degree. This charge carries a unified 10 years and up to life in prison, up to a $50,000 fine, a $5,000 compensatory fine as well as restitution.

Sgt. Jessica Marley was assigned to Eldredge’s case when she joined IFPD Investigations Bureau. With the help of resources from crime television show, Cold Justice, Marley, and other investigators were able to conduct more interviews and obtain more evidence.

December 2018, IFPD began the process of presenting the case to Bonneville County prosecuting attorney.

Jones is currently incarcerated in the Idaho Department of Correction on an unrelated parole violation.

Police say a warrant has been served, and Jones will now be transported to Idaho Falls.

His bond has been set at $500,000.

The prosecuting office says with this charge, there is nothing in the criminal reports or investigation that suggests anyone else was involved in the murder of Stephanie Eldredge .

Idaho Falls Police plan to share details about developments in the 2007 homicide of Idaho Falls resident Stephanie Eldredge Friday at a 1 p.m. press conference.The 21-year-old was reported missing from her apartment on Holbrook Street on August 20, 2007.

Her body was discovered three years later on April 23, 2010, in the foothills 12 miles east of Idaho Falls.

Eldredge was the mother of three daughters.

She was born August 5, 1986, in Everett, Washington, to Roger Milton Wilkey and L. Moriah King Wilkey .

She attended Gethsemane Christian School, Clair E. Gale Jr. High and was a graduate of Idaho Falls High School.
