Suspect in custody following Sunday morning SWAT situation

An Idaho Falls man is in custody following an active situation with Idaho Falls Police and the SWAT team.

Police received a call about 5 a.m. in the 1200 block on Bluebird lane.

Idaho Falls Public Information Officer, Jessica Clements, tells Local News 8 and KIDK Eyewitness News 3 because of prior knowledge they knew who the suspect was.

A large number of police officers responded to block off the area.

41-year-old resident Nate Blackburn lives on the 1200 block of Bellin Road.

He was taken into custody about 10:20 a.m. and booked in the Bonneville County jail on felony stalking, burglary and civic protection order violation.

Blackburn has a history with explosives, which prompted the call for the SWAT team.

IFPD says nothing was stolen from the house on Bluebird.
