One dead, three injured in Highway 31 crash

A Victor woman was killed and three other people injured in a two car crash on State Highway 31 at milepost 5.4 at around 4:45 p.m. Monday.

Idaho State Police said 24-year-old Nevada J. Chavez was driving a 1997 Subaru Legacy Wagon and failed to negotiate a curve in the northbound lane. She collided head-on with a 2018 BMW X5.

The driver of the BMW, Seied Yasrobi , 64, and his passengers, Brenda Younkin , 45, and a juvenile, all from Jackson, were transported by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Chavez was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Highway 31 was blocked in both directions for about five hours
