Details released after federal investigation closes West Yellowstone streets

One suspect, identified as Charles Gibson Bailey, 32, was arrested in West Yellowstone Thursday night. He is being held in the Missoula County Jail on a federal ” hold ” .
UPDATE 3/29/19 3:35 p.m. West Yellowstone Police have released a few details about a multi-agency investigation Thursday.
According to Gallatin County, police investigated a felony stalking complaint. When the suspect was taken into custody, officers suspected violations involving hazardous materials at a local residence.
The street was reopened to the public Friday morning.

As part of a federal investigation, the West Yellowstone Police Department has closed Firehole Avenue between Geyser Street and Hayden Street.
The closure is intended to provide parking for investigating agencies, including the Lewis and Clark County Bomb Squad, the Bozeman Fire Regional Hazmat Team, Hebgen Basin Fire District, the 83rd Civil Support Team and Gallatin County Emergency Management.
The nature of the investigation was not disclosed, but the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office said there was no threat to the public.
