Baby zebra born at Idaho Falls Zoo

The Idaho Falls Zoo announced the birth of its new female Plains Zebra named Ayana on Friday.

Ayana was born on Sunday, April 7.

She is the 21st and last foal of the zoo’s male zebra Oblio who passed away of age-related complications this winter.

Ayana can be found in the zebra exhibit with her mother, Autumn, and big sister Ivy.

Zoo officials say if the weather is poor, she will have to stay inside the barn for her health and safety.

The Idaho Falls Zoo reopens on Saturday, April 13 at 9:00 a.m. and will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
