Downtown Idaho Falls supporting Awesomeness of Autism fundraiser

Stores, restaurants, and businesses in downtown Idaho Falls are supporting special needs programs in the school district this week.

It is part of downtown “Awesomeness of Autism” fundraiser.

Participating merchants will have blue lights in their windows.

Downtown business owners will dedicate selective store items for purchases to fund and donate a portion of the sale to the cause.

For some merchants, if a certain amount is purchased in one transaction, they will donate it to the autism programs.

Donation boxes are also available, and some businesses are matching what people donate.

“Our downtown merchants are just so generous to support this program,” Idaho Falls Downtown Development Executive Director Catherine Smith said. “It’s really their money out of their pockets to support this. It’s because they care and have so much love for this community.” All proceeds go to Idaho Falls School District 91 and Bonneville Joint School District 93.
