30 students win Mayors Scholarships

Bingham County Mayors will award $16,000 in scholarships to 30 applicants this year.

The awards went to students in Bingham County high schools supported by the cities of Aberdeen, Blackfoot, Firth, Shelley, Sho-Ban, and Snake River.

The scholarships, of $500 each, will be used for post-secondary education. The funds were raised through private donations and corporate gifts from Blackfoot Anesthesia, Bingham Memorial, Idaho Central Credit Union, Idaho National Laboratory, Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Cox’s Honey, The Candy Jar and Premier Technology.

The scholarships will be formally awarded at the Bingham County Mayors Scholarship Awards Gala May 9 at Aberdeen High School Performing Arts Center.
