Local figure skaters raise money to attend Olympic Team event

A group of nine local figure skaters has the opportunity to go to Florida in June to take part in an event with the USA Olympic Team.

The group is raising money to help fund the trip. They have a goal of raising $5,000, and they are looking for any individuals or businesses who are willing to be a sponsor.

The event is designed to give skaters of various levels the chance to compete, but the opportunity presents so much more than just that.

Coach Sydnee Nethery adds, “They will also be working with Team USA, attending events with the Olympic Team USA, so it’s a really big deal for them and we’re trying to make it a reality for them to all get there. So it’s not just one of the small regional ones we’re doing. they are going above and beyond, and that’s why we want these girls there to open up the opportunities and get the experience.”
