Idaho Falls Police chat with community over coffee

Ever wanted to sit down, chat and drink a cup of coffee with some law enforcement? Idaho Falls citizens got to do that at “Coffee with a Cop” Friday morning.

The Idaho Falls Police Department met with the community at Chapolera Coffee House on 335 E First St. in Idaho Falls.

The Idaho Falls Police put on this event to promote positive casual interactions between citizens and officers. People asked questions and shared concerns about their neighborhoods.

“I got to talk to a nice couple that just moved here from Virginia and we talked about house prices,” said Chief Bryce Johnson. “I moved here not too long ago, about a year and a half ago. We talked about our experiences moving into town and what a great place it was. Then another woman came in, told me about a problem in her neighborhood and she gave me a couple of pictures. It was really productive.”

The event was open to the public. Anyone who stopped by got a free 12-ounce cup of coffee, courtesy of Chapolera Coffee House.

The Idaho Falls Police Department hopes to hold another event like this soon.
