Man on run after crashing car in Idaho Falls
The Idaho State Police is on the lookout for a man who eluded law enforcement officers and crashed in Idaho Falls on Saturday night.
According to the Idaho State Police, a trooper initiated a traffic stop on a 2018 Dodge Charger on Lincoln Road near Woodruff Avenue in Idaho Falls around 11:40 p.m. The trooper then got out of his car, but as he was approaching the stopped vehicle, the driver fled east on Lincoln Road.
The vehicle then went through the traffic circle at the intersection of Lincoln and Hitt roads. The driver lost control of his car, went into the westbound lane and hit a Hummer H3 head-on.
The driver of the vehicle fled on foot into a field nearby.
The suspect has not been located, but the Idaho State Police said witnesses identified him as 20-year-old Oscar Pantoja-Martinez, of Idaho Falls.
The driver of the Hummer, 19-year-old Abril Ramirez-Arteaga, of Idaho Falls, was not injured.
The Idaho State Police was assisted by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho Falls Police Department.
