Utah hiker dies climbing Mount Everest

A Utah hiker who wanted to climb the tallest mountain on every continent has died after reaching the top of Mount Everest, his seventh summit.

Don Cash’s children told the Today Show Cash died Wednesday after collapsing at the top of the summit. He was 55 years old.

Base camp officials say Cash was a part of the 15-member expedition led by Chinese climber Yuan Li.

His cause of death has not been officially determined, but his children told the Today Show they believe he went into cardiac arrest.

The sales executive from Sandy, Utah, is remembered by family and friends as a loving, adventurous person.
