Baby camel born at Idaho Falls Zoo

UPDATE 5/29/19: The Idaho Falls Zoo has named its new baby camel Khan.

The Idaho Falls Zoo has a new baby Bactrian Camel.

He was born Saturday, May 18 to mother Zasu and father Goby, and he is their third child.

Bactrian camels are native to Mongolia.

The calf has not yet been named and the zoo is inviting the public to suggest possible names.

You can enter a name suggestion for the new baby camel HERE.

Typically, the zoo names new babies according to common names regionally-appropriate to the animals’ native ranges.

The zoo staff will make the final decision on the name next week.
