Idaho Falls seeks comments on S. Boulevard plan

After some controversy over the plan last year, the city of Idaho Falls will hold a public meeting Wednesday to consider a new striping plan for South Boulevard.

The original plan was implemented between Sunnyside Road and 17th Street last summer. A center turn lane and bicycle lanes were added while on-street parking was eliminated.

This summer, Idaho Falls Public Works will continue to study vehicle speed, vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian volume and traffic incidents.

An initial public open house is set Wednesday, June 5, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Maeck Education Center at the Idaho Falls Zoo.

The traffic studies will be reviewed at an additional public meeting scheduled August 15.

Those unable to attend the public meeting may call Public Works at 208-612-8250 or submit comments via e-mail to ifeng@idahofallsidaho.gov
