Local free summer lunch programs

Summer is in full swing, and so are the summer food programs across eastern Idaho.

Idaho Falls

The Idaho Falls Summer Food Program kicks off Monday.

The summer food program will take place from June 3 through August 23 on Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kate Curley Park.

This summer lunch program is available to all youth ages 1-18.

Kate Curley Park is located at 300-398 9th St, Idaho Falls.

Bonneville School District 93 also has a Summer Food Service Program.

Free lunch is served at Summer Lunch in the Park at the Hillview Elementary Playground right next to McCowin park in Ammon on Monday- Friday from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. It’s free for children 1 to 18 years old. Adults may purchase lunch.

POCATELLO

Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 is gearing up for the 2019 Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children ages 1-18 without charge. Adults may purchase a lunch for just $4.00.

Meals will be provided at the following sites:

Alameda Park – Wayne St. & Pine St. Bicentennial Park – Abraham St. & Eve St. – (Chubbuck) Caldwell Park – 8th & Center St. Hawthorne Park – Hawthorne Rd. & W. Eldredge Rd. Hawthorne Middle School – 1025 W. Eldredge Rd – Service from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. OK Ward Park – W. Quinn Rd. Raymond Park – Lincoln St. & Carson St. Lower Ross Park – 2750 2nd Avenue

Meals will be served weekdays, Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, June 5, 2019. The last day of service will be Friday, August 16, 2019.

There will not be meal service available on Thursday, July 4 or Friday, July 5.

REXBURG

Madison Food Service is participating in a summer lunch program in Madison County from June 3 to July 28.

Kennedy Elementary School Cafeteria: Monday through Friday from 10:50 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Porter Park North Side: Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Smith Park West Side: Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Free meals will be provided for children ages 1 to 18. Adults may purchase meals for $3.50.

Site rules states, “You must stay at the site to eat and may not take food away from the site. Parent’s also can’t eat their children’s food.”

BLACKFOOT

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is free to children 1-18 years of age and only $3.85 for adults.

Francis June 10 – July 25, 2019 Closed June 28, 2019 and July 1-5, 2019 11:00 am—12:00 pm IT Stoddard Elementary 460 York Drive June 10 – July 26, 2019 Closed July 4 & 5, 2019 11:30 am —12:45 pm Groveland Elementary 375 W 170 N June 10 – July 26, 2019 Closed July 4 & 5, 2019 11:30 am —12:45 pm Ridge Crest Elementary CLOSED DO TO ROAD CONSTRUCTION.
