Arizona man wins 28th Annual Bighorn Sheep lottery tag

A Prescott, Arizona man won the 28th Annual Bighorn Sheep tag lottery drawing.

New Idaho Fish and Game Director Ed Schriever drew Andrew Tomlinson’s ticket on Thursday.

Two alternates were also drawn in case Tomlinson is unable to make the hunt.

1,000 people from all across the nation bought anywhere from one to several hundred chances, supporting the efforts of the Idaho Wild Sheep Foundation to “keep sheep on the mountain.”

This year, the lottery raised $109,343 that will be spent toward the benefit and enhancement of bighorn sheep and their habitat in Idaho.

The lottery for this bighorn sheep tag has raised a total of almost $2 million for wild sheep in Idaho over the past 28 years.
