Mudslide being cleared

UPDATE:

A mudslide is partially cleared which shut down Highway 89/26 between Alpine and Jackson for hours.

WYDOT sent an alert just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday saying both lanes were blocked as crews worked to clear the roads.

They were able to clear one lane just before 10:30 p.m.

A mudslide keeps more than 100 drivers from reaching their destination.

Wyoming crews are working quickly to clear out all the mud. Michael Hester tells us he has been sitting in traffic for two hours. He used a drone to get an aerial look at the slide which he says is about 40 feet wide.

Traffic is blocked in both directions on Highway 89/26 between Alpine and Jackson. Avoid the area if you can.
