17th Roarin’ Youth Jam kicks off Thursday

Young kids and teens are flooding the Snake River Greenbelt in Idaho Falls for the Roarin’ Youth Jam.

It is the 17th year the Idaho Falls Arts Council and the ARTitorium on Broadway have hosted the event. The theme for this year is “100 Years of Theater.”

There are 25 booths with different activities for kids to express their creativity, like arts and crafts, dress up, dance and more.

“Part of the mission for the Idaho Falls Arts Council is to get out there with visual arts and have kids participating in the arts,” said Georgina Goodlander, the visual arts director for the Idaho Falls Arts Council. “Youth Jam is really a core part of that mission.”

The activities at the Roarin’ Youth Jam are free to the public. It continues Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
