Bandits down North Dakota in World Series opener

The Idaho Falls Bandits beat Fargo, North Dakota 7-3 in its first ever American Legion World Series game on Thursday.

The heart of the lineup was big for Idaho Falls. The Bandits got two hits a piece from their 3-4-5 hitters. Tavyn Lords, Randon Hostert, and Andrew Gregersen also scored two runs each. Hostert added a home run in the sixth for 2 RBI. Nick Layland also knocked in two runs.

Caden Christensen was the winning pitcher. He gave up just one run on three hits in 5.1 innings. Jaxon Sorenson pitched two-thirds off an inning to record the save.

The Bandits continue group play on Saturday with a game against Massachusetts. That game will be at 11 am Mountain Time.
