Bisharat Market serves Inkom for nearly 40 years

Rahis Bisharat bought the local grocery store nearly 40 years ago, and now Bisharat’s Market is a staple of Inkom.

“My brother and my uncles, they were working at the INL. They were engineers. That’s how we moved to this area over here,” Bisharat said.

At 29-years-old, he uprooted his life to follow family to America.

“We bought it then I moved, then. I’m from Nazareth, Israel,” Bisharat said.

Now his family is part of the business. His son runs Bisharat Automotive in Pocatello, which led to Rashid starting a small dealership at the market.

“It all started, the kids want cars, you know? They were fixing cars and we started like that. We bought cars and we start selling cars,” Bisharat said.

When asked what made him stay in Inkom all this time, Bisharat said it’s all thanks to the people.

“We have really nice community, nice people, that’s what the whole thing is about. I enjoy meeting the people in town. And we love it, it’s like family for me over here after all those years,” Bisharat said.
Bisharat’s Market is located on 177 Main Street.
