Original Story:

A Colorado man was hospitalized after a Sunday afternoon crash on State Highway 28, about 9 miles north of Lone Pine, Idaho.

Idaho State Police said Justin Nichols, 41, of Idaho Falls and his passenger were in a 2012 Ford F150 pickup pulling a horse trailer traveling south on State Highway 28 at Nicholia Ranch Road at around 12:53 p.m. Sunday.

Marrion Lematta, 66, of Salida, Colorado was driving a 2003 Honda VTX1800 motorcycle behind Nichols. The motorcycle struck the rear of Nichols’ truck and came to rest under the horse trailer hitch.

Lematta was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was wearing a helmet.

The highway was blocked for about 80 minutes. ISP was assisted by the Lemhi and Clark County Sheriff’s Offices, Clark County EMS, Lemhi County Search and Rescue, and Lifeflight Network.
