Open houses to review D93 building bond

Patrons of the Bonneville School District can get a first-hand look at the school board’s plans if a proposed building bond issue is approved at the polls next Tuesday. Two public, open-house meetings have been scheduled to brief the public on the district’s plans.

The $42.7 million bond would be used to acquire, furnish and equip a new elementary school, additions to Bonneville and Hillcrest High Schools and make improvements to other existing schools and facilities throughout the district. The new projects include 8 science labs at both high schools and classrooms for students with special needs at the new elementary school.

According to the district, the annual cost to the taxpayer on the proposed bond would be a tax of $92 per $100,000 of taxable assessed valuation.

You can see the district’s facilities plan here, as adopted in September of 2018.

More information on the bond is available here.

The open houses are scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each night, Tuesday at Bonneville High School and Wednesday at Hillcrest High School.
