New businesses move in to Station Square in Old Town

Old Town Pocatello is changing every day, and this past moth is no exception.

“There’s quite a lot of changes, actually, in the last three years,” said Denis Clijsters, the part-owner of the Station Square building in Old Town.

Station Square had been mostly vacant for years, but with the new ownership, it’s filling up with new businesses. In August alone, three new businesses have opened in the building: Poky Kids, Crafted and DW Investors, who signed their lease on Wednesday. Sagewood Audio Studio also moved in to Station Square in July.

“We have (Sagewood), it’s a recording studio, so anyone who wants to do a YouTube or vlog or any kind of audio recording, or needs a green screen, it’s all in there,” Clijsters said.

Crafted: A Beverage Co. opened at the kiosk at the beginning of August. It sells Geraldine’s pastries, breakfast and lunch specials. Soon, they hope to serve dinner once they get their liquor license.

“As we’re waiting for our beer license to come through, and wine license, we’re waiting for that to go through and then once we get that going, we’re going to be more out there and hopefully more people come in,” said Miles O’Donnell, a part-owner of the coffee shop.

Across from the coffee kiosk is a new children’s clothing store, called Poky Kids.

“I really believe in recycling and reusing and stuff like that, so I wanted to make a central hub for that to happen in Pocatello for Poky parents,” said Andrea Binggeli, the owner of Poky Kids.

But she doesn’t just sell used items.

“The new things were trying to bring in are homemade, artisan-type things from local mommas,” Binggeli said.

Also in Station Square is a Hawaiian eatery, a cycling gym, and an art gallery.

“We keep on changing and updating the building and the atmosphere day by day. I think for those that may remember it from several years ago, it may have been quiet, but things are definitely different now,” Clijsters said.

Clijsters is setting up communal workspaces and conference rooms that are available to rent.

“I’m just really proud of Old Town Pocatello and the revitalization that I see happening here,” Binggeli said.
