Amended Costco development agreement approved

The Idaho Falls City Council has approved an amended development agreement for the Costco site and annexed the radius and circumference of the roundabout at Hitt and Lincoln Roads into the city as part of the project.

The Costco property was annexed into the city in 2018, but the roundabout property was not. At the time, the roundabout was being improved by Bonneville County.

When the Costco development agreement was approved in July, it did not include any improvements to Hitt or Lincoln Roads, because the rights of way were not annexed. The new agreement specifically addresses improvements to both roads, as well as fees to be collected for improvements to the roundabout at the Hitt and Iona Road intersection. All the improvements and fees were included in a traffic study completed for the Costco development.

A section of Hitt Road to the east of the roundabout was not annexed into the city. It is managed under the existing Bonneville County comprehensive plan.
