AmeriGas flaring concerns passerby in St. Anthony

It looks a little frightening, but Fremont County Emergency Management says a flaming sign at AmeriGas Propane on South Yellowstone Highway in St Anthony is nothing to be alarmed about.

Officials say the company is burning off propane vapors in a propane tank in order to perform routine maintenance.

If you see the flaring, you need not report it. Emergency Services and AmeriGas are both monitoring the release.

There is no risk to the public or to the environment. The railroad cars in the picture are not affected by the flaring.
