Firth Mayor Vincent Larson dies of cancer

Firth Mayor Vincent Larson, 70, died at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Tuesday, after a battle with cancer.

Larson’s public service included 25 years as a school teacher, 30 years as a volunteer with the fire department, and 13 years as Mayor of Firth.

Larson was born in Shelley in 1949, but grew up and spent his entire life in Firth. He and his wife Cynda Kay Skillings had seven children.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m Saturday at the Basalt Ward at 823 North 6758 East. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church, with burial to follow in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
