Pocatello shoppers flooded the new Goodwill location that opened on Thursday.
Goodwill opened in Pocatello about 12 years ago, but within three years had outgrown the building on Yellowstone Avenue.
After years of planning, the store officially opened its doors to the new location, the former Element Outfitters building.
The move offers about 6,000 more square feet than before and even opened up six new jobs.
Store manager Michael Thiel said that before the grand opening, the old location had sold out everything except five items.
The new store is fully stocked with items from communities across Idaho, Montana and Utah. Thiel said he has complete confidence in the Pocatello community to keep the store stocked with donations.
“Two days ago as we were getting prepared, I had a gentleman come in and say, ‘God bless you for the work you do,” but really it is the community that allows us to do this,” Thiel said.
Pocatello’s Goodwill is now located at 1570 Yellowstone Avenue.
