Administrators add security following alleged threat

UPDATE 9/24/19: The Blackfoot Police Department received a report of threats made towards the Blackfoot High School during afterschool hours Monday.

The incident was immediately investigated by the Blackfoot Police/ Bingham County Sheriff’s Office joint detectives division into the late hours of the evening as police take these threats very seriously.

Through the course of this investigation, police we are confident this incident does not pose a threat of safety to School District 55 students, faculty or staff.

More law enforcement will be on campuses in Blackfoot tomorrow (Tuesday, 9/24) following an alleged threat.

Blackfoot School District #55 posted on social media tonight (Monday, 9/23) that investigators found no credible evidence to support this threat. However, they say they are taking it seriously and will have more law enforcement on duty.

This is only a precaution. The district says it wants to ensure the safety of all of its students.
