New Alumni Center at Idaho State University

A new building on Idaho State University’s Campus will soon change the face of the university.
ISU announced plans this week to build an $8.3 million Alumni Center on campus.

It will replace the 3,000 square foot (2.79 a) Magnuson Alumni house on 7th street.

The current building doesn’t have space or parking for Alumni gatherings.

The new 22,000 square foot (20.44 a) building will be used for Alumni, students and visiting dignitaries as a gathering place.

It will have space for events, offices and even a board room.

The building will be paid for almost entirely by private donations and 95 percent of that money has already been collected.

Alumni Director Ryan Sargent says the University is kicking off the final campaign to get the last bit of funding in place. They are reaching out to Alumni, and individuals.

“We are so excited to kick off this final public campaign to finish this building off,” Sargent said. “We’re reaching out to alumni now who can donate, and what’s exciting about giving to the project right now is that we have a generous donor that is matching every donation dollar for dollar until the end of the year up to $200,000 dollars. So really this building is happening, and we’re excited about it, but we need just a little bit more help to push us over the finish line.”

Construction on the building is expected to begin sometime in 2020.
