UPDATE December 30, 2022: HAMER, Idaho (KIFI) -The use of improper materials is what caused a fire that destroyed three buildings in the small community of Hamer.

Investigators with Idaho State Fire Marshal's office determined the improper use of an aluminum irrigation pipe as a chimney flue and other issues are to blame.

They remind Idahoans they must use listed and rated components when installing solid fuel heating appliances. They should also be installed by a licensed and bonded contractor.

ORIGINAL December 23, 2022: HAMER, Idaho (KIFI) - Investigators with the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office were called to Hamer for a large commercial structure fire overnight Wednesday.
