3 things to know for August 22, 2022

Here’s your Local News 8, three things to know this morning.

1. The City of Pocatello will be looking for three new city council members after Claudia Ortega, Christine Stevens, and Roger Bray announced on Friday they will be resigning. They say it’s because of the way they were treated by the other council members and the mayor. The governor will make the final decision on who will be replacing them.

2. Be careful when kayaking on the snake river.  A woman had to be rescued yesterday when she went over a diversion dam on the north side of Idaho Falls.  Rescuers were able to get to her with a jet ski. She was not injured.

3.  It’s back to school for students at Idaho State University today. Classes start this morning. And to help greet the students, businesses will be holding their annual welcome back orange and black event in downtown Pocatello from 4 to 7.
