Powerball jackpot winner Edwin Castro buys a $25.5 million Bel Air mansion

LOS ANGELES (KCAL) — The winner of America’s largest-ever Powerball jackpot of $2 billion is accumulating real estate and just bought a seven-bedroom, eleven-bathroom hilltop mansion in L.A.’s Bel Air neighborhood.
Edwin Castro chose the lump sum payment of $997.6 million after winning the jackpot in November. Castro previously bought a $25.5 Hollywood Hills home and a $4 million Altadena home.
Once listed for $87,777,777, the newest home purchase is a contemporary home known as ‘Palazzo di Vista’ and was designed by reconstructive surgeon-to-the-stars, Alex Kadavi, in collaboration with Ali Rad Design Group. Views from the home span from the San Gabriel Mountains to the Channel Islands.
The modern home is said to be ideal for entertaining with a dark marble and glass aesthetic, with a DJ table, glass elevator, pool-sized koi pond, an infinity pool, champagne tasting room, and a theater large enough for a crowd.
There’s also a tequila bar, a glass-walled wine room, multiple dining venues both inside and out, additional lounge areas, and a suspended glass floor walkway.
The primary suite includes a floating wrap-around deck and a resort-style bath. The massive kitchen offers an open floor plan with access to the outdoors via glass walls. Seated on over an acre of grounds, the mansion offers privacy and seclusion.
