3 things to know this morning – December 13, 2023

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here's what you should know to start your Wednesday.

1. The School Resource Officer at Thunder Ridge High School is searching for answers after a firearm was found on school grounds. The school's principal sent out a message to parents about the incident yesterday. According to the message, nothing indicates there is an intentional threat toward students or employees related to the gun.

2. The Idaho Falls Sanitation Division will no longer provide recycling bins or haul recyclable items other than glass. The Division says it's because of the rising cost associated with recycling those items and it just became too expensive for the city to continue. Idaho Falls residents can still use Western Recycling for curbside and drop-off recycling.

3. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is reminding everyone that closures for some of our back-country roads are now in effect. These closures happen each year until the conditions are clear and roads are safely passable. The Bonneville County Commissioners will designate when these areas can re-open in the Spring.
