CHISINAU, Moldova (AP) — Electoral data shows that Moldovans have voted by a razor-thin majority in favor of securing the country’s path toward European Union membership. The pro-Western president is again accusing foreign interference and “criminal groups” of trying to undermine the vote in the former Soviet republic. Moldovan authorities claim that Moscow has intensified a “hybrid war” campaign to destabilize the country. Russia has repeatedly denied it. The “No” vote in the EU referendum appeared to be ahead until the last few thousand votes were counted from Moldova’s large diaspora. With 99.41% of votes counted, the “Yes” vote stood at 50.39%.
