Blackfoot approves street name change

City Of Blackfoot

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) — The City of Blackfoot has approved a street name change for a portion of South Fisher Avenue in an effort to improve emergency response accuracy and public safety.

According to a notice from the city, the 1300 block of South Fisher Avenue, between Clifford Street and Last Street, will officially be renamed South Elderberry Avenue beginning June 15, 2026.

City officials say the change is intended to eliminate addressing inconsistencies and help emergency responders locate addresses more quickly and clearly.

The affected section is located near Blackfoot High School and Riverbend Elementary School.

The city encouraged residents and businesses in the area to prepare for the address update ahead of the effective date.
