Kids from Constitution Camp Bring the “Light of Liberty” to Pocatello

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) – The campers in Pocatello at Constitution Camp have been learning about U.S. history all week, participating in hands-on activities like pulling wagons across the "Oregon Trail" and building states on the country map. They've also been learning patriotic songs to perform at their "Light of Liberty" musical on the last day of camp.

Hundreds flocked to the Calvary Chapel for the performance on Friday evening. The kids sang the songs including "What's More American?" and "Fifty Nifty" while narrators and camper soloists took the audience on a journey through American history.

This year's musical is special because of the country's 250th anniversary. The new curriculum for the camp included new songs and program information the families have never seen before. Camp Director Michele Holyoak said it's the only year the community can enjoy the special show.

Watch above for sights and sounds from the June 20 performance.
