Rexburg Police arrest man accused of disturbing residents while naked at apartment complexes

REXBURG, Idaho (KIFI)– Rexburg Police arrested a man Saturday morning after a weeklong reports of a naked man disturbing residents at apartment complexes in the area.

At about 4:08 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, officers spotted the suspect in the area of South 1st West. Police said the man immediately fled.

Officers conducted surveillance and canvassed the area while working to locate the suspect. Deputies with the Madison County Sheriff's Office, BYU-Idaho Campus Security and members of the public assisted in the search.

According to police, the suspect was eventually located and pursued until officers surrounded him in the backyard of a residence on 4th West. He was then taken into custody and transported to the Madison County Jail.

Police said the suspect faces criminal charges including resisting and obstructing, stalking, indecent exposure and malicious injury to property.

The identity of the man has not been released and the investigation remains ongoing as additional victims and witnesses continue to come forward.
