Section of State Highway 39 to close for railroad construction in Blackfoot

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) –  The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has announced a three-day detour on State Highway-39 from October 12 through 15.

The project will permit repairs where the road crosses the railroad tracks on the highway.

The road closure extends from State Highway-39 West Collins Road to the U.S-26/State Highway 39 junction at mile post 52.3.

The detour is shown on the map below in blue.

On its Facebook page, the City of Blackfoot asks drivers to “plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted detour signs for your safety and the safety of construction crews.”
