AMMON, Idaho (KIFI) – Thomas E. Wylie, of Alpine, Wyoming, was arrested for felony DUI after reportedly following an Ammon resident home in a vehicle, threatening to kill him and entering his vehicle.

The victim reported that a stranger was yelling in his driveway and was going through his personal vehicle. Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Deputies said the man appeared to be intoxicated and called the individual he’d followed home a “punk.”

The victim said that he first encountered Wylie on the road, where he reportedly drove close to his back bumper, swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic and followed the victim to his home.

The neighbor said the man reportedly kicked the victim’s car, damaged it, opened the door and started going through items inside.

A breath test confirmed that Wylie’s blood alcohol was almost double the legal limit to be driving. When deputies went ot arrest him, he threatened to fight and kill them. He was secured in a body wrap system before being placed in the deputy’s vehicle, according to a BCSO news release.

Wylie’s car contained an opened, partial bottle of Vodka. He also has two previous Driving Under the Influence convictions in Wyoming in the last decade.

Wylie was charged with felony Driving Under the Influence and two misdemeanor unlawful entry and resisting arrest offenses. Deputies also obtained an arrest warrant for misdemeanor malicious injury to property.
