Two local businesses offer reimbursement for Extreme Rush gift cards amid closure

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) – Just six months after its grand opening, Extreme Rush Fun Zone in Pocatello has shut its doors. Now, Deleta Skating and Heber Hatchets are offering a way for residents to still use their gift card money to the fun zone.

The closure comes just weeks after the business suffered a large pipe burst inside due to a storm. Thanks to the community support, Extreme Rush reopened within a few days. Now, a sign on their door says they've closed for mainteneance and restructuring.

The closure has sparked confusion and outrage online as customers wonder what will happen to their unused Extreme Rush gift card money. Two local businesses, Deleta Skating and Heber Hatchets Axe Throwing, took notice and stepped up to the plate.

Through November 21, residents can use their gift cards at both activity centers. Management will allow up to $50 of reimbursement per gift card. Instead of arcade games and go-karts, the gift cards can now be used for axe throwing and family fun skating.

Deleta Skating is celebrating Halloween by hosting "Trick-or-treat at the rink" on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. Costumes are encouraged and the event is open for all ages. Deleta will have free full-size candy bars for trick-or-treaters.
